Dioramas
Wearing masks 2 is part of a series I started as a resident artist at through the Brush Creek Foundation of the Arts. The piece is embroidered with soy silk, bamboo, and cotton floss on antique homespun linen that is more than 100 years old. The porcelain doll arms are from Germany and were excavated from the grounds of an old doll factory that operated between 1850-1910. I sculpted the masks from porcelain. It is framed in a reclaimed barn wood frame and is backed in antique linen and rayon/wool blend felt. The piece measures 6 inches x 7 inches by 3 1/2 inches. It can be hung on the wall or can sit on a table or shelf.
